Update – Located Deceased
As the search for missing Kapuskasing couple Nicole and Jody Blais continues, volunteers are needed on the ground to help on snowshoe.
Anybody who can volunteer is being asked to go to 125 Kamiskotia Rd., where the Timmins ground search is being led from. There, organizers will be able to direct you to where help is needed, but you will have to drive a bit, get in on a snowmachine then snowshoe.
Nicole and Jody Blais were last seen Monday, March 4 around 7 p.m. leaving Sudbury via helicopter. They didn’t arrive at their destination, a hangar in Fauquier.
The missing helicopter is a grey Robinson R66 with white and orange trim.
An update from the Royal Canadian Air Force search master is expected this afternoon.
The family has been organizing ground searches via snowmobile and is working with the main search headquarters to co-ordinate efforts.
After today, organizers say volunteers for the ground search will be directed to Fauquier and Strickland.
If you can volunteer to look via snowshoe, call or text Sherrie Joanisse-Grzela at 705-288-1467.
