Tragic Discovery: Body Believed to Be Missing Pregnant Woman Rebecca Park Found in Michigan Forest
Authorities in northern Michigan have confirmed the recovery of a body thought to be that of Rebecca Kay Park, the 22-year-old pregnant woman who vanished three weeks ago. The find ends a frantic search but opens new questions in a case that gripped the community.
A volunteer searcher first spotted the remains in the remote Manistee National Forest of Boon Township on November 25, 2025. Wexford County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police quickly responded, verifying the body matched Park’s description. An autopsy is pending to officially confirm identity and determine cause of death, with officials stressing the investigation is ongoing.
Park was last seen entering a dark sedan outside her mother’s home on South 21½ Road in Boon Township around 11:30 p.m. on November 3, 2025. She had mentioned someone was picking her up but didn’t share details. Her cellphone was later found discarded on a nearby trail, fueling fears of foul play. At 38 weeks pregnant, Park had visited a hospital that day for contractions but was sent home after being one centimeter dilated.
Park’s family and fiancé expressed profound grief. Mother Courtney Bartholomew recalled the last moments: “A black car pulled up, and she got in. They drove off slowly, then sped away – that was the last time I saw her.” Fiancé Richard Falor, eager to welcome their baby boy, added, “We were so ready to be parents. This isn’t like her.” Half-sister Kimberly Park noted, “We talked multiple times a day. No one knows where she is, and it’s breaking us.”
The case drew widespread attention, with hundreds of tips and a $10,000 family reward. While no suspects are named, investigators are probing the vehicle and inheritance money Park received that day, which might have allowed her to avoid detection – though loved ones insist she had no plans to leave.
