Police have charged two London men, one with murder, after a man they knew was found dead in his vehicle in a south-end parking lot.

Alexander Lambert, 52, is charged with second-degree murder and offering an indignity to a dead body, while 47-year-old James McGillivary is charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and offering an indignity to a dead body. Both men knew David Hole, 53, who was last seen alive in London on Nov. 15 and found dead in his SUV 15 days later, police say.

There was a three-day gap between when Hole was last seen alive in London and when family reported him missing; it took another two days for police to make public a photo of Hole’s Ford Escape and issue a missing person’s report.

Hole’s body was found in the SUV Nov. 30 in a commercial parking plaza at Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East that has several restaurants, a pharmacy, a grocery store and a cheque-cashing business. A person who worked there told The Free Press he’d noticed the SUV parked in the lot a day or so before the body was found – raising questions about where it had been for the weeks Hole was missing.

At the time, police made it clear they were still probing the case, but didn’t explicitly call it a suspicious death.

The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone with information about Hole’s death to call (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
