Missing Calgary Woman Deeanna Erickson – Five Months and Still No Trace
Calgary police and family continue to plead for information about Deeanna Erickson, a 31-year-old woman who disappeared on the night of Friday, June 6, 2025.
Deeanna was last seen around 11 p.m. after getting off the route 162 bus near Walden in southeast Calgary. Transit cameras captured her earlier that evening travelling from Marlborough LRT station to Somerset-Bridlewood station. She asked a driver about her usual bus, but boarded the wrong one. Footage later showed her crying, rocking back and forth, and appearing distressed before suddenly exiting the bus. She has not been seen since.
Investigators have exhausted all other leads and are now relying heavily on the public. Police say they cannot confirm foul play at this time, but the case remains very active.
Deeanna lives with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and had an adult guardian and support workers. She had recently completed treatment and achieved sobriety, but had been removed from the program and was on a wait-list for another when she disappeared. Her sister Shelby believes the lack of support may have contributed to a relapse that night.
“She would never just leave her bird,” Shelby told reporters. “That bird is her everything.”
Shelby has personally contacted fishing companies along the Bow River asking them to watch for any sign of Deeanna, as ground searches were unable to cover water areas.
