The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) are advising the Ottawa community of a man police describe as a “violent offender” currently living in the Centretown area of Ottawa.

58-year-old Timothy Leeder has been deemed a high-risk violent offender since 1994, OPS say in a recent release.

OPS believe Leeder poses a high risk to the community, women in particular. He has a history of violent behaviour including sexual and aggravated assault.

Police believe he presents a risk to the community and are concerned that he may commit similar offences in the future.

He is described as:

White male
5 feet 8 inches tall
Medium build
Short hair, salt and pepper in colour
Brown eyes

According to the release from OPS, Leeder is subject to the following conditions:

Not to consume, purchase or possess illegal drugs.
Not to consume, purchase or possess alcohol.
No direct or indirect contact with past victim in Guelph, Ont. and members of their family.
Do not associate or communicate with any person believed to be involved in criminal activity.
Not to enter establishments where the primary source of income is derived from the sale or consumption of alcohol.
Remain within his temporary residence between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.

If you become aware of a possible breach of these conditions, do not approach him and contact the Ottawa Police Service High-Risk Offender Management Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 4395. Call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.
