One woman has been rescued and taken to hospital and another is missing after storm surge destroyed their homes in Port aux Basques.
RCMP Corporal Jolene Garland says one woman is missing after she was reportedly swept out to sea.
Unfortunately, says Garland, conditions are so dangerous, officers are unable to confirm the woman’s status, or respond to the situation.
Meanwhile, one woman was rescued after she ended up in the water when her property collapsed.
Bystanders were able to rescue the woman, who was transported to hospital for treatment. The extent of injuries are not known at this time.
