Autumn Hope Shaganash, 26, has been missing since the morning of June 10, 2023. She was last seen in the area of Sunnidale Park in Barrie, Ontario, during the Walk to End ALS. Surveillance footage captured her walking with an unidentified man and carrying a pair of skis. She has not been heard from since.
The night before, on June 9, 2023, Autumn left her sister’s home near Burton Avenue and Frank’s Way around 9:00 PM, saying she’d be back later. She was seen on video walking past a local convenience store and meeting an unknown individual. Later that evening, she messaged cousins saying she was heading to a bar but didn’t specify where or with whom.
At 11:00 PM, she texted her sister, Lilli-Anne, saying she would be out late and return the next day. At around 9:30 to 9:45 AM the following morning, she texted Lilli-Anne again to ask for a ride—but when her sister responded just three minutes later, Autumn’s phone was already off. There has been no activity on her phone or bank account since.
Her disappearance was officially reported on June 12, 2023. Since then, the Barrie Police Service has conducted multiple searches with K9 units and drones, launched billboard and transit campaigns, and offered a $50,000 reward for information. Despite these efforts, no confirmed trace of Autumn has been found.

🔍 Investigation
Family members gained access to Autumn’s laptop and social media accounts and discovered messages exchanged around 9:30 AM on June 10 with an unknown individual. Autumn reportedly provided a street name but not a house number. Screenshots from Snapchat included images of a man and the interior of a house, with a visible street name.
In February 2024, a $50,000 reward was announced to encourage new leads. In April, four billboards and five Barrie transit buses were outfitted with awareness messages. Then in July 2024, a potential sighting was reported in North Bay, Ontario, near Regina Street and McIntyre Street East on June 21. This has not been confirmed.
Her family believes she may have been lured or coerced into human trafficking—an angle investigators have not ruled out. They have also criticized what they see as a lack of urgency from law enforcement. In response, they have printed and distributed posters, followed up on leads themselves, and raised funds to hire a private investigator.

Elle a été filmée marchant près d’un dépanneur et rejoignant un homme inconnu. Plus tard, elle a envoyé des messages à ses cousins pour dire qu’elle allait dans un bar, sans préciser lequel ni avec qui.
À 23 h, elle a informé sa sœur qu’elle resterait dehors tard et rentrerait le lendemain matin. Vers 9 h 30 – 9 h 45 le 10 juin, elle lui a écrit pour demander à être récupérée. Sa sœur a répondu trois minutes plus tard, mais ses messages n’ont jamais été délivrés. Le téléphone d’Autumn était éteint.
Aucun mouvement bancaire ou téléphonique n’a été détecté depuis. Elle a été officiellement déclarée disparue le 12 juin 2023.
