A woman reported missing in Thunder Bay since the beginning of the month was sighted in Winnipeg last week.
Thunder Bay police reported Wednesday that with the assistance of Winnipeg police, investigators have confirmed that 25-year-old Latanya Tait was seen on Portage Avenue in the Manitoba capital on the evening of Jan. 16.
Updated images obtained from cameras are now being distributed to the public and media.
Thunder Bay police said they still consider this an active missing person case, and that Tait’s family remains concerned for her well-being.
In Thunder Bay, she was last sighted in the Oliver Road area near Lakehead University and the hospital on New Year’s Day.
Family members participated in a news conference last week where they appealed for the public’s assistance in locating her.
The woman is Indigenous, five-foot-seven in height, with a medium build.
She has medium-length brown curly hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a dark parka with fur around the hood, a pink/purple hoody, black pants and black running shoes.
