Video Post: Athena Brownfield funeral

The funeral for Athena Brownfield will be held in Enid at the Stride Bank Center at 2 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday. State Sen. Roger Thompson will officiate the services.

Athena was born on Sept. 6, 2018, in Lawton and passed on Christmas Day, according to her obituary. She enjoyed coloring and playing dress up. She loved Baby Shark, her favorite color was purple, and the obituary says she was “joined at the hip” to her sister.

It was the same sister, 5, who was found wandering alone outside by a postal worker on Jan. 10 that led to the realization Athena was missing. A search commenced, while the 5-year-old was placed in protective custody, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
