Durham police are investigating after a man tried to abduct an eight-year-old boy in Brooklin.
The child was walking home around 3:20 p.m. Thursday in the Thickson Road and Carnwith Drive area when the man pulled up and told the boy his father had been in an accident.
The boy ran home and told his parents, who then called police.
The man is described as white, in his mid-40s with short, spiky brown hair, green eyes and a grey goatee. He is possibly 6′ tall and police don’t have a description of what he was wearing.
He was driving a black, four-door newer vehicle with tinted windows and a sunroof. Police do not have a licence plate number and the man was last seen driving on Downey Drive toward Carnwith Drive East.
