The search for a man missing west of Timmins has ended.
South Porcupine OPP says Rene Blais was found dead around 2:30 p.m. today (Sept. 5).
Police have been searching for the 57-year-old since Friday, Sept. 1, which is when he was last been seen at the Old Mill Campground on Highway 101 about 50 kilometres west of the city.
Over the weekend, volunteers also helped out with the search, which included the OPP’s emergency response team (ERT), canine unit, and aviation services.

There’s a heightened police presence west of Timmins as police search for a man last seen on Friday.
Rene Blais, 57, was last seen at the Old Mill Campground west of Timmins around 1 p.m. on Sept. 1. He was driving a 2017 Polaris Ranger UTV XP 1000 with the Ontario licence plate #OJN44.
Today (Sept. 3) multiple OPP units are in the campground area to search for him. Police say the family is concerned for his well-being.
