🚨 FAMILY OF MISSING BOY DARIUS MACDOUGALL RELEASES NEW PHOTOS, SAY HOPE REMAINS
The family of six-year-old Darius Macdougall, who went missing on September 21 during a camping trip in the Crowsnest Pass area, has issued a new public plea for assistance. They emphasized that they have “not given up hope” of bringing him home.
In their message, relatives shared newly released photos of Darius, taken the same weekend he disappeared. They also highlighted the specific area where he was last seen — approximately four kilometres south of the Crowsnest Pass in southwestern Alberta.
On Wednesday, officials confirmed that after ten days of exhaustive searching by nearly 400 search-and-rescue volunteers from Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, no trace of the boy was found. The search operation was officially called off, and the area has since been reopened to the public.
According to his family, Darius was last seen wearing a blue and grey sweater, a Christmas shirt, sweatpants, Paw Patrol shoes, and had a recent short haircut. They are asking Canadians nationwide to share his photos widely, and request that anyone travelling in the region remain alert. If evidence or belongings are spotted, people are urged not to touch anything, but instead to immediately call the Crowsnest RCMP at 403-562-2866.
“We will not stop until we get answers,” the family stated firmly.
The RCMP confirmed that although the ground search has ended, the investigation remains active. While officers noted that there is currently no indication of foul play, they reassured the public that all information and tips will continue to be thoroughly reviewed.
RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney also raised concerns about individuals attempting their own searches in the rugged area, describing the terrain as heavily forested with steep alpine slopes, rivers, lakes, bogs, and waterways, making it dangerous for untrained searchers.
