Sarah Frenchman said the last three years without her sister Nicole have been incredibly difficult. Nicole’s family is trying to come to grips with her disappearance, knowing she likely isn’t alive.
“She was a very outgoing girl. Funny… she was courageous,” Frenchman said Wednesday at a media availability hosted by the Edmonton Police Service.
“It’s been really tough for me and my family. My dad doesn’t take it well at all. He’s trying to heal from it in his own little way. I’m healing in my own way.
“We were the only fully-blooded sisters in our family. It’s really hard to go through this.”
Case recap
Edmonton homicide detectives are renewing calls for information regarding the 2021 disappearance of then-23-year-old Nicole.
Nicole was last seen on July 10, 2021, at around 5 a.m., after she and another woman were dropped off by a taxi on 82 Avenue between 97 and 99 Street, police said in a Wednesday news release. While Frenchman’s remains have never been found, police said investigators believe she is dead and that her death is a homicide.
