Police are setting up a command post to aid in the search for two young girls who have been reported missing in Mississauga.

The children, who are siblings, were last seen around 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday near Lakeshore Road East and Fergus Avenue.

Police have identified the kids as 10-year-old Renee Aidoo and six-year-old Victoria Aidoo.

Renee has been described as being about five-feet tall with long braided black hair. She was last seen wearing dark pants, a back pack and a facemask.

Victoria is described as being about four-foot-three, with long braided black hair. She was last seen wearing light pants, a Peppa Pig backpack and black shoes.

Police say that the two kids were supposed to go to school but didn’t make it on the bus. Nothing indicates there was an abduction, investigators added.

“Girls were last seen leaving residence to their school bus stop,” police said on social media. “We’re asking anyone in and around Lakeshore Rd E / Fergus and Fergus Ave / St. James Ave to check video surveillance or dashcam video for them & for anyone to call police if you believe you have seen them.”

This is a breaking news story. More to come.
