Body of missing Ontario toddler found outdoors on daycare property

A massive search in Northumberland County after a 20-month-old girl went missing Thursday has ended in tragedy after the tot was found dead.
The child went missing from a daycare operation on County Road 45 north of Cobourg at about 5:20 p.m. and people from all over joined Ontario Provincial Police in a huge search for her.
The searchers included local reporter and photographer Pete Fisher, who put the cameras away and frantically looked for her.
Fisher said that the girl was noticed missing when her mother came to pick her up. The child had last been seen about 20 minutes earlier.
Sadly, she was found deceased in an open well that was outside the fenced-in playground area. Her family was distraught at the scene.
It’s the worst possible outcome and the nightmare of every parent.
The OPP’s Criminal Investigation Unit has been called in to investigate.
