Human Remains Found Near Kapuskasing Identified as Emily-Anne Larouche, Missing Since January 2026

Human remains discovered near Kapuskasing, Ontario earlier this month have been identified as those of Emily-Anne Larouche, also known as Mimi, who had been missing since January 25, 2026.
The Discovery
The remains were found in a field near Kapuskasing on April 21, 2026. The JAMES BAY OPP announced the identification on April 29, 2026. The cause of death is still under investigation. The investigation involves the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
