Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the death of a four-year-old child who drowned in a pond in Proton Station, Ontario.
Police say officers were called to a farm in Southgate Township, northwest of Toronto, just after 7 p.m. on Sunday, following a report that a child had gone missing while swimming with family members.
A search involving police dogs, fire personnel, and emergency services was launched on the property and surrounding pond. Tragically, the child’s body was recovered by emergency crews on Monday morning.
At this time, the identity of the child has not been released, and police have not shared further details about the circumstances of the drowning.

🚨 Noyade tragique d’un enfant de 4 ans à Proton Station, Ontario – Juillet 2025
La Police provinciale de l’Ontario a confirmé le décès d’un enfant de quatre ans, retrouvé noyé dans un étang à Proton Station, en Ontario.
Les policiers ont été appelés dans une ferme située dans le canton de Southgate, au nord-ouest de Toronto, peu après 19 h dimanche, à la suite d’un signalement selon lequel un enfant avait disparu alors qu’il nageait avec des membres de sa famille.
Une opération de recherche impliquant des maîtres-chiens, les pompiers et les services d’urgence a été lancée sur la propriété et autour de l’étang. Malheureusement, le corps de l’enfant a été retrouvé par les secours lundi matin.
L’identité de l’enfant n’a pas été divulguée, et aucun autre détail n’a été communiqué pour l’instant concernant les circonstances de la noyade.
