🚨 2 Months Later: $5,000 Reward Offered for Information on Eli Wood Missing After Suspected Arson Fire in Kitchener
It has been almost two months since 25-year-old Eli Wood disappeared following a targeted arson fire that destroyed his home in Kitchener on October 19, 2025. Waterloo Regional Police suspect foul play and the investigation remains active, though no new public updates have been provided.
Eli’s mother, Cindy Wood Amero, has now announced a $5,000 reward for information that helps locate him and bring him home safely. In a recent Facebook post, she wrote: “Someone must have information. I never imagined I’d have to rely on strangers to help me with my children, but I’m imploring you to please help — don’t give up. My child deserves every ounce of love and support possible. Eli is an exceptionally kind and compassionate individual who would never hesitate to help others in this situation.”
Eli is a student in the master of social work program at Wilfrid Laurier University and is a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. He is described as 4-foot-10 and between 85 and 95 pounds, with green eyes, light-coloured hair and eyebrows, and distinctive tattoos: a flower and seahorse on his left forearm, and a rainbow on the upper part of his right arm.
Earlier this month, a planned ground search was cancelled due to weather, but police emphasized the investigation is ongoing with daily contact with Eli’s family. They assure the public that additional details will be released when appropriate.
