The body of a missing woman who fled Iran has been recovered, Windsor police say.
In a post to social media on Friday afternoon, the force announced Shilan Shahbazian’s body had been located.
Investigators do not suspect foul play was involved in her death.
Shahbazian, 26, was last seen at around 7 p.m. on Jan. 4 near Huron Church Road and Riverside Drive West.
She reportedly fled Iran and sought refuge in Canada about two years ago.
“Our thoughts are with Ms. Shahbazian’s family and loved ones, and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time,” police wrote.
Police did not share further information about the circumstances surrounding Shahbazian’s death or where her body was located.
