An Oklahoma community held a beautiful tribute for Athena Brownfield.
Investigators said the 4-year-old girl from Cyril was killed on Christmas Day. Oklahomans gathered in Enid to honor and celebrate Athena’s life.
It was an incredibly moving and emotional day as Oklahomans from across the state came out to honor little Athena Brownfield. Flowers, teddy bears and a pink bike covered the stage as dozens filed in, wearing a purple ribbon, which was Athena’s favorite color.
State Sen. Roger Thompson officiated her service. He spoke about Athena’s love for her sister, Baby Shark, and how deeply she touched those she never met.
The heart-wrenching pain was felt across the state when investigators announced Athena was never coming home.
“The only thing on everyone’s mind was, ‘we must find her.’ I didn’t know her name a month ago, but she has impacted my life,” Thompson said.
All funeral expenses, including the use of Stride Bank Center, were fully covered.
