The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in a missing person cold case investigation.
On Monday, January 18, 1982, Naif Rashid, who was known as “John”, was reported missing from the Weston Road and St. Phillips Road area.
It was reported that:
-he was last seen on the evening of Friday, January 15, 1982, and believed to have attended the Gasworks tavern which was located in the Yonge Street and Dundonald Street area
-Naif Rashid is described as 5’10”, 150 lbs., with black wavy hair, brown eyes, black moustache, and a deep voice
-he was last seen wearing a brown waist length bomber style leather jacket, blue jeans and navy blue long sleeved sweater
An image has been released.
Today, Naif Rashid would be 76 years of age.
Despite the passage of time, investigators in our Homicide and Missing Persons Unit remain actively committed to solving this case.
Family members and investigators are making an appeal to the media and public for any information that may help advance the investigation.
