UPDATED : “This is somebody’s loved one” Police unable to identify man who died in Winnipeg more than a month ago

On September 15, 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service asked the public for help identifying an unknown male found in medical distress outside a restaurant at 1186 Main Street on August 5, 2022. The male had been transported to a hospital, where he later passed away.

As a result of the media release, police investigators received numerous tips from the public that assisted with positively identifying him as an adult male (with the help of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office).

Officers have since met with his family, and notifications have been made.
