The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a missing 30-40-year-old-male.
On Dec. 8, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a request to assist Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) regarding a man walking on the North Saskatchewan River, near the High-Level Bridge. Due to the male acting erratically, and environmental conditions, it was unsafe for first responders to walk on the ice. As such, EFRS deployed their Rapid Deployment Craft and attempted to negotiate with the man. At approximately 7:30 p.m. the man reportedly jumped into the water and was pulled under the ice, disappearing from sight. This man is still missing and his identity remains unknown.
The male is described as white, skinny, 6’0, 160 lbs, and appeared unkempt with scruffy facial hair. He was last seen wearing a grey winter jacket, black and blue plaid pajama pants, a dark colored toque, and black shoes with blue striping. The male identified himself as “Tyler”.
Anyone with any information about the man’s identity is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
