Timeline

At 10.30 that morning, Nicole went to pick up the mail from the lobby of the 20 story apartment building. She made it back to the apartment to get ready for her playdate with her friend. She spoke with her friend on the intercom and advised she would be right down. Her friend waited 15 minutes in the lobby before buzzing the intercom again. At 11 am Nicole left her apartment and said goodbye to her mother and entered the penthouse hallway. This missing poster advises she was last seen entering the elevator. However her doe page advises she was last seen in the hallway. When I first heard about the case years ago, I read online her mother was running a day care from her apartment, and was doing so the day of Nicole’s disappearance. However, I can not find a credible link to post of this. Here is the google maps link to the apartment building. The pool was located at the rear.

Recent Movements in the Case

The Oct. 28, 2014, ground search on Horseshoe Valley Road, 20 km (7.87 miles) north of Barrie, was the result of a call to Crime Stoppers from a citizen asking police to revisit an OPP tip from 1985. The tip came in from Billie Jo Player who was only 11 when Nicole went missing. Two days after Nicole’s disappearance, Billie heard screams, also confirmed by her neighbours, coming from the heavily wooded property and called 911. Unfortunately, police found nothing conclusive.
