On September 13, 2017, at approximately 9:15PM uniform officers from the 1 District – St. Catharines office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a residence in the City of Thorold. A 13 year old boy and his family had contacted the NRPS after an unknown male accosted him earlier in the day.
At approximately 6:45PM on September 13, 2017, the boy had been walking with his scooter in the area of Clara Street and Taylor Street in Thorold. An unknown man came up behind him and wrapped his arms around the boy. The boy struggled and struck the man with his scooter. The boy fled the area.
The boy was not injured.
The unknown white male suspect is described as:
– Approximately 50-60 years old
– 180 lbs
– Shaggy red moustache
– Sunglasses
– Grey mesh hat
A black truck was also seen in the area at the time of the incident that may or may not be linked.
The investigation remains ongoing by detectives from the 1 District Criminal Investigation Branch and the Child Abuse Unit.
