After a report Monday Evening of two youths playing by the Castor River in Embrun, Ontario and a report that they possible fell in, the OPP conducted an extensive search operation. However OPP found no evidence to indicate that anyone went through the ice and no children have been reported missing.
Update From The OPP:
Last night Russell OPP received info that two young kids were playing on the ice near St. Joseph Rd in Embrun, Ontario and someone thought they saw a person go through the ice. An Extensive search was conducted; and no evidence to indicate anyone went through the ice and no missing kids reported at this time.
We know that kids are enjoying March break and that means more time spent playing outdoors. Please talk to your kids about the importance of staying away from waterways, due to rapidly changing weather and ice conditions. No ice is safe ice.
