Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers has doubled its reward for information regarding a man that has been missing for several months.

Trevor Shawn Chaput was reported missing to Sarnia police on July 6 after his family had not seen or heard from the 33-year-old for several weeks.

Cst. John Sottosanti said the Criminal Investigations Division is treating his disappearance as suspicious.

“The family, friends and Sarnia police would truly appreciate any information that would assist in locating Trevor,” said Sottosanti. “This ordeal has been very difficult for the family and any answers would be greatly appreciated.”

Chaput is described as about 5’6″ tall and weighs around 160 pounds. He has a scar on his right cheek and tattoos on his upper chest of the Scorpio and Leo zodiac signs.

Cst. Sottosanti said the maximum reward for information received through Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers is now $4,000. He said a search of an area near Lasalle Line, east of Highway 40, last month failed to turn up any new information.

“Unfortunately the search was uneventful,” said Sottosanti. “But, if we receive information that may assist, obviously we’ll be conducting more searches but we need that information to point us in the right direction.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the non-profit program at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or Sarnia Det. Cst. Tyler Callander at 519-344-8861 extension 6193.
