A 40-year-old relative of an 11-year-old child reported missing in Listowel is charged with abduction in contravention of a court order, provincial police say.

The child, reported missing from a home in the community about 40 kilometres north of Stratford just after 11 a.m. Tuesday, was found later with a relative, Perth OPP said. No injuries were reported.

The accused has been released pending a future appearance in a Stratford court.
