The body of a man missing since the middle of November was located by police Tuesday afternoon.
In a news release issued Tuesday night, Frontenac Ontario Provincial Police said they located the body of Kevin Camilleri, 59, who was last seen alive on Nov. 9.
Police began looking for Camilleri on Nov. 16.
The remains were found after a search of an area south of Sharbot Lake by the Frontenac Detachment Crime Unit and the OPP Emergency Response Team. Exactly where Camilleri was found and whether he had suffered any apparent injuries was not released as the details are part of the OPP’s investigation, Const. Robert Martell said
On Friday afternoon, Frontenac OPP officers arrested 29-year-old Sebastian Johnston in Sharbot Lake and charged him with first-degree murder.
Johnston is to appear in court in Kingston on Thursday.
The investigation took the OPP to the residence at 1027 Bender Rd., and it was held as a scene connected to the case. Martell said the scene, which is roughly 10 minutes south of the village of Sharbot Lake, has since been released.
The 10.5-acre property has been listed on Realtor.ca for roughly four months. It features an older four-bedroom home in need of a full renovation, and a number of out buildings, including an old barn and large shed.
The listing states the property was being rented on a month-to-month basis.
