The body of a Sudbury woman who has been missing since early April has been found, police said Friday.
The 39-year-old, identified only as ‘Parisa,’ went missing April 7 near Corsi Hill. Her remains were found just after 2:05 p.m. on May 21 by a police cadaver dog named Scout.
The body was found in Junction Creek near the Junction Creek trail at Kelly Lake Road, police added.
“A post-mortem was conducted on May 23 … through the Coroner’s Office to assist in confirming the identity of the individual and the cause of death,” police said in a news release.
Foul play not suspected
“At this time, there is no suspicion of criminality or foul play. Our deepest condolences go out to Parisa’s family and friends. We ask that you respect their privacy during this very emotional time.”
Police have searched for the missing woman each week since she went missing using ground, water and aerial searches.
“Unfortunately, due to environmental factors at the time of her disappearance, Parisa was not located during the initial search efforts,” police said.
“The change in spring conditions assisted in her being discovered by K9 Scout.”
