Perth County OPP are asking local residents to keep an eye out for a man suspected of attempting an abduction earlier Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Perth Road 131 just south of Line 86 near Carthage, between 11 and 11:15 a.m.
According to police, a youth was riding their bike when they were stopped by the suspect standing outside of his vehicle. They say the man gestured the youth to stop, began to ask multiple questions, made some inappropriate comments and then grabbed the youth, who was able to get free after a short struggle.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s, with a heavier build, approximately 5’6″ with short to medium dark hair and stubble. He was last seen wearing a white short sleeve button up with a black vest.
The man was driving a turquoise older model car, possibly a hatchback, with rusted rims. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Perth Road 131.
OPP are asking anyone in that area who has dash cam or home surveillance footage to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
