The Missing Persons Unit is advising that Dale Nancy Wyman, who went missing from her home July 16, 1980, has been located.
In May 2021, police released age-progressed sketches and a video message from her family.
Recently, a third party came across the post and contacted Dale’s family to advise she had been living outside the country all this time and that she recently passed away.
“The family and Ottawa Police would like to thank everyone for their assistance in closing this file,” said Detective Linda Nethercott from the Ottawa Police Missing Persons Unit, who verified the information. “The family has been waiting over 40 years for this news.”
Detective Nethercott, who has solved other missing person files from the 1980’s, wants people to know it’s never too late to reach out. “Unsolved cases are never closed, and families are waiting to hear, no matter how much time has passed.”
