A successful search involving multiple local police services for a woman who was thought to be in distress in the Redbridge area late afternoon and early Friday evening also closed the case of a woman who was reported missing from Timmins earlier last week.
She was located in good health, the OPP confirms.
Mid-afternoon on Friday, information was released stating a missing Timmins woman was believed to be in the North Bay area and police had information she was travelling on foot with plans to head further south.
Then, on Friday afternoon the North Bay Police Service issued a plea for assistance after it received reports from multiple locations in Redbridge of a female who appeared to be in distress.
The North Bay Police Service issued an appeal to the public for assistance in locating an injured woman from the Redbridge area. The individual had been seen in the area of the Redbridge Landfill on Highway 63 and the Redbridge General Store at the intersection of Highway 63 and Songis Road in Redbridge on June 2.
NBPS assisted with the search and the investigation was later transferred under the OPP’s jurisdiction on Friday evening.
The OPP released few details regarding the search except the individual was found safe and was indeed the subject of the missing person report originating in Timmins.
