The Ontario Provincial Police will make a second public appeal for information that might lead them to the whereabouts of a woman abducted from a home in Wasaga Beach in January.
April 12 marks the three-month anniversary of the disappearance of Elnaz Hajtamiri, after the 37-year-old woman was forcibly taken by three men claiming to have a warrant for her arrest.
In a news conference scheduled for Tuesday, OPP Det. Insp. Martin Graham is expected to make an appeal for additional information from the public, along with a video statement from a member of Hajtamiri’s family.
Hajtamiri, who also goes by the last name Tamiri, was also the victim of an assault in the parking garage of her Richmond Hill home in December. On Dec. 21, she was attacked by two men, one of whom was wielding a frying pan and used it to strike her in the head.
Hajtamiri had temporarily moved to the Wasaga Beach home of a family member as a safety measure.
Her ex-boyfriend, Mohamad Lilo, has been charged with criminal harassment in connection to alleged incidents involving Hajtamiri prior to the Dec. 21 assault. He was scheduled to make a second court appearance in Collingwood on April 12.
He has not been charged in connection to the assault in December, or Hajtamiri’s abduction.
Police launched a dedicated tip line at 1-833-728-3415 for information related to Hajtamiri’s abduction. Members of the public can also leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
