🚨 Mother of Four Identified as Victim in Brampton Fatal Shooting That Led to Amber Alert
The woman shot and killed in a Brampton parking lot earlier this week has been identified as Savannah Kulla, a 29-year-old mother of four, including a one-year-old baby girl who became the subject of an Ontario Amber Alert shortly after the shooting.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Monday in the parking lot of a plaza near Airport Road and Queen Street East. Emergency responders arrived to find one adult woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics treated her at the scene, but she was later pronounced dead.
Hours later, an Amber Alert was issued for one-year-old Skyla-Rose Deschepper, who police said was abducted by her father, 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper, after the shooting. Police later described the homicide as a case of intimate partner violence.
According to police, Skyla-Rose was found safe Monday evening after being dropped off at a relative’s home in the Niagara area. Two days later, on Wednesday morning, Anthony Deschepper was shot and killed by police during an officer-involved incident in Niagara Falls.

Reports have since identified the victim as Savannah Kulla of Brampton, the mother of three boys and a one-year-old daughter. Kulla often shared posts about her children and her experiences as a mother on social media.
In a post dated May 24, 2024, she wrote:
“Words can’t explain how complete I feel. My baby girl, my princess. You are so loved already. Thank you for choosing me to be your mama. I can’t wait to live this life with you and your siblings.”
Family and friends have expressed deep grief online, describing her as a devoted mother who loved her children dearly.
🚔 Suspect’s Background
Police records show that Anthony Deschepper had previously been charged in a 2023 shooting in Brampton. He was on the run for several weeks before being arrested in Waterloo. No injuries were reported in that earlier case.
Investigators continue to gather evidence in connection with the fatal shooting of Savannah Kulla. Peel police have not yet released additional details about the investigation.
