Police in Merritt are looking for help from the public to track down a missing woman whose vehicle was found broken down on an area highway.
Jacqueline McDermott, 22, was reported missing on Saturday by relatives who said she was last seen on Thursday.
“Police have learned that on Sept. 30, 2022, Jacqueline had planned to attend a yoga retreat near Merritt, but left after a short time,” RCMP Const. David Feller said in a news release.
“Her vehicle, which appears to have broken down, was located on Highway 97C between Merritt and Logan Lake, and local community members recall seeing Jacqueline around her vehicle.”
Feller said an extensive ground and air search turned up no sign of McDermott.
She is described as a white woman standing five-foot-five and weighing 111 pounds. She has curly blonde hair and a fair complexion with a medium build and a pierced nose.
Anyone with information about McDermott’s whereabouts is asked to contact Merritt Mounties at 250-378-4262.
