According to a social media post from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR), the group was called by the West Kelowna RCMP to help look for a missing child at around 10 pm on Saturday.
COSAR did not specify the age of the youth, but did say that they were under the age of 10.
“After the family searched without success, 22 COSAR members, including our e-bike, K9, and drone teams, responded,” reads the post.
“After several hours, the child was returned home safely in the early morning.”
The local group added that during their search, they received reports of rising, fast-moving streams because of the warmer temperatures and that people should stay clear of creeks and rivers as spring freshet is underway.
