🚨 MISSING MAN IN VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – AVELINO BAPTISTA, 82 – LAST SEEN SEPTEMBER 20, 2026
The Vancouver Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 82-year-old man, Avelino Baptista. He was last seen at his home near Rupert Street and East 29th Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia, at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Avelino suffers from dementia and may appear confused. He speaks Portuguese and only a little English, and may respond to the nickname “Big Al.” Both police and family are deeply concerned for his well-being.

- Age: 82 (Male)
- Height: 5’1″ (155 cm)
- Build: Medium
- Hair: Short, grey
- Other: Caucasian, has a mustache. Suffers from dementia, speaks Portuguese and limited English. May respond to “Big Al.” Left without a wallet or cane.
- Last Seen Wearing: Blue track pants with a white stripe, a blue shirt with “80th Birthday” on it, and possibly no shoes
- Last Seen: September 20, 2026, at approx. 8:15 a.m. near Rupert Street and East 29th Avenue in Vancouver, BC
