Around 10:40 a.m. this morning, May 28, 2023, 29 year old Matthew was located deceased by members of our Search and Rescue Team with the assistance of the OPP helicopter.
At this time, foul play is not suspected.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 29-year-old man who has been reported missing, and there are concerns about his well-being.
The man, identified as Matthew, was last seen on May 27 around 2:45 p.m. on Penman Avenue in Garson, according to the police.
Matthew is described as approximately 6’2″ tall, weighing around 250 pounds, with a shaved head and facial scruff. He was last seen wearing a grey tank top with a yellow and red graphic, dark shorts, and sandals…
Anyone with information regarding Matthew’s whereabouts is urged to contact the police at 705-675-9171.
Efforts are underway to locate Matthew, with officers from the GSPS and North Shore Search and Rescue conducting a ground search of the wooded area off Penman Avenue. Additionally, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) helicopter is en route to assist with an aerial search, and the GSPS Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) is currently deployed in the area. As a result, there will be an increased police presence in the vicinity in relation to this matter.
