🚨 Infant Presumed Dead After Mother Found Slain in St. Albert – Father Charged
St. Albert RCMP say a woman found deceased in a St. Albert apartment has been identified as Ayla Egotik-Learn, 23, and her missing infant daughter, Braylee Beasley, is now believed to be dead.
Police say Ayla’s body was discovered last Friday inside an apartment on Rivercrest Crescent. Early in the investigation, officers learned that Braylee, who was nine months old, was missing.
RCMP arrested Ayla’s common-law partner and Braylee’s father, Christopher William Beasley, 33, at a St. Albert hotel on Tuesday.
Beasley has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to Ayla’s death, along with two counts of indignity to a body involving both Ayla and Braylee. Police note that these allegations have not yet been tested in court. Beasley is scheduled to appear in St. Albert court on Monday.
Mounties say they have reason to believe Braylee is deceased and that efforts are underway to locate her remains. Police added they have some understanding of where Braylee may be located and are not currently requesting public assistance in the search.
A criminal record check shows Beasley pleaded guilty in July 2025 to assault involving Ayla Egotik-Learn and received an 18-month probation sentence. Other domestic-related charges were later withdrawn.
