🚨 Missing Boy – James Candy, 17 – Last Seen August 7, 2017 – Vegreville, Alberta

James Candy was last seen at his home located between Vegreville and Two Hills, Alberta on the evening of August 6, 2017. James was reportedly having a difficult summer and was uncertain about his plans for the fall. His family emphasized that no argument occurred the night he vanished, contrary to any rumors.

James went to bed around 11:00 p.m. on August 6. When his parents checked on him at 9:30 a.m. on August 7, he was gone. It’s believed he exited through his bedroom window sometime during the night. His parents searched the area, and upon returning to his room, discovered a suicide note. After a final attempt to find him outside, they contacted the RCMP.

The RCMP led a massive three-to-four-day search involving four fire departments and search dogs. Cadaver dogs with CASSDA tracked a scent to a slew northwest of the home, which was drained, but nothing was found.

James left behind all his belongings except his white/blue lasso rope, cowboy hat, and Swiss army knife—none of which have been recovered. He had been struggling with past bullying and challenges finding work.
