An Aurora teenager reported missing Oct. 8 has been found dead.

The body of Aaron Bank-Sedore, 15, who was reported missing in a tweet by York Regional Police earlier in the day, was found inside a Region of York water tower located on a trail system near Orchard Heights Boulevard in Aurora.

The teenager, who police described as “vulnerable” had last been seen in the area of St. John’s Sideroad and Yonge Street in Aurora when he was reported missing.

“This is a tragic situation, and York Region extends our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” said York Region’s corporate communications director, Patrick Casey. “York Region has cooperated with York Regional Police and the Ministry of Labour.

“York Region consistently reviews our security systems at all facilities and invests in technology, and will continue to do so moving forward.”

The circumstances of the teen’s death are not considered suspicious, Const. Andy Pattenden said.

A coroner will determine the cause of death.
