π¨ Missing 11-Year-Old Boy in Burnaby, BC β Kai Pavlovic Update β October 2, 2025
The Burnaby RCMP is continuing efforts to locate 11-year-old Kai Pavlovic, while clarifying that this case does not meet the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert.
According to police, Amber Alerts are only activated when an abduction is confirmed and there is imminent danger to the child. In Kaiβs case, RCMP say investigators believe he is staying with a caretaker who is unknown to police, and while his whereabouts remain unconfirmed, the situation does not qualify for the alert system.
Police first received a request for a well-being check on Friday, September 26. Since then, officers have spoken with Kaiβs family, pursued multiple investigative leads, and deployed numerous resources to aid in the search.
βOfficers are working around the clock to locate Kai,β RCMP said in their statement. The initial priority, police added, was to ensure the public was made aware of his disappearance and that his photo was circulated widely.
