The Chatham-Kent Police Service has charged a man with murder after 45-year-old Daniel Marchand was found dead in a Tilbury home a week after he was reported missing.
Marchand was last seen on April 15 and reported missing four days later. On April 26, his body was discovered in a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Tilbury. Following an autopsy, Marchand’s death was ruled a homicide.
The police arrested 32-year-old Ken Baylis of Tilbury in connection with the death. He has been charged with second-degree murder and was remanded into custody after a court appearance.
Authorities have assured the public that this was an isolated incident and there is no reason to believe that the public is at risk.
