The Belleville Police Service has launched an investigation into a concerning incident that took place on Tuesday evening near Parkdale Veterans Park, specifically in the vicinity of Jackson Avenue and May Avenue.
According to police, a man of South Asian descent repeatedly approached a 12-year-old girl, urging her to enter his car. Fortunately, the situation diffused when a couple arrived on the scene and confronted the man, prompting him to drive away.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The suspect is described as a male in his 30s, and he was seen driving a white sedan equipped with dark rims. Authorities are actively working to gather additional information and urge anyone with relevant details to come forward.
