A male driver attempted to lure a child into a vehicle as the child walked home from school yesterday.
On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a suspicious vehicle and driver approached a nine-year-old boy in the area of Carnwith Drive and Cachet Boulevard. The male driver offered the child a ride and when the boy refused, the driver offered him money to get in his vehicle.
The boy ran home and into his house where his father went outside and saw the vehicle. Police were then contacted and searched the area with negative results.
Residents are being asked to ensure their children are aware of possible dangers from suspicious people and vehicle, and have plans on how to interact or not engage in conversation with people not known to them.
The suspect is described as male, white and approximately 65-years-old with grey hair and a full white beard.
The suspect vehicle is described as a four-door grey or silver vehicle. The licence plate may contain the letters BTTV but does not match the make and model of the vehicle that was seen at the time of the incident. An image of the vehicle is attached or can be viewed at www.drps.ca under Newsroom.
