A 22-year-old Londoner faces an attempted abduction charge after a man tried to snatch an infant in a car seat, city police say.
A stranger approached a woman holding her infant in a car seat on Vinewood Court in the Glen Cairn neighbourhood about 12:45 p.m. Thursday, police said Friday. They spoke and the conversation made her fear for the child’s safety.
The man put his hand on the car seat and tried to grab it from her, police said. She wrested it away, went to a nearby house and called 911.
Officers arrested a suspect without incident, police said. There were no injuries.
A London man is charged with attempting to commit an abduction. He was to appear in court Friday.
