The RCMP are releasing limited details about the ongoing investigation into two missing children from Pictou County. Six-year-old Lily Sullivan and her four-year-old brother Jack Sullivan disappeared from their Lansdowne Station home on the morning of May 2, 2025.
Despite a massive initial search involving hundreds of volunteers, the active search was suspended on May 7, 2025. Subsequent targeted searches have taken place in the surrounding area, but no substantial evidence of the children’s whereabouts has been found.

RCMP spokesperson Cindy Bayers confirmed that cadaver dogs will be used in an upcoming phase of the investigation but did not disclose specific dates or locations, citing officer safety and investigative integrity.
When asked about recent comments from the children’s grandmother, who publicly stated that she believes Lily and Jack are deceased, Bayers responded: “We have no specific reason to indicate the children are deceased.”
Bayers also emphasized that the investigation remains active: “Our investigation will continue until we know what has happened to Lily and Jack.”

- More than 820 tips have been received and are being assessed.
- 80 formal interviews have been conducted.
- Over 1,070 investigative tasks have been assigned to the case.
- All functioning video files canvassed from Lansdowne Station and surrounding areas have been reviewed.
