🚨 HUMAN REMAINS IDENTIFIED AS MISSING SMITHS FALLS MAN ROBBIE THOMSON
Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that human remains located on a property in Montague Township are those of Robbie Thomson, a man from Smiths Falls who had been missing for more than two years.
The confirmation comes after three individuals were charged with first-degree murder on October 29, 2025, in connection with Thomson’s disappearance. At the time, police declared it a homicide despite not yet locating his body.
On October 30, the day after the arrests, officers with the Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Kelly Jordan Road in Montague Township, where human remains were found. A postmortem examination confirmed that they belonged to Robbie Thomson.
📌 Investigation and Arrests
The three accused are identified as Christopher Fenton, 48, of Montague Township, Erin Mackie, 40, of Montague Township, and Joshua Belfiori, 34, of Kingston. All remain in custody and were scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 5.
Residents of Kelly Jordan Road — located northeast of Smiths Falls — will continue to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues. Police emphasized there is no threat to public safety.
💬 Official Statements
In a statement issued Wednesday, OPP said: “Police do not believe there is risk to public safety.”
Earlier in October, police had offered a $50,000 reward for information regarding Thomson’s disappearance.
