Durham Regional Police are asking for help to identify an elderly man found on a Clarington walking trail.
Police were called to the Samuel Wilmot Nature Trail at Cobbledick Road and Fairway Drive in Newcastle just before 9 p.m. on Monday for a check on a well-being call, where they found a deceased 70-year-old man. Police initially listed the man as in medical distress in a June 18 release, but clarified on June 20 that he was deceased.
The man was alone and had no identification on him, police have been unable to identify him.
He is described as 70 to 80 years old, six feet tall, approximately 175 pounds with a medium build, balding short white hair in a brush cut, and a full white beard. He was wearing dark glasses, a blue, brown, grey and orange plaid button-up short sleeve shirt, khaki cargo shorts, a leather belt and brown walking shoes. He has distinguished patches of pigmented skin, known as vitiligo, on both his right and left hand, and right and left feet.
